No! No! But writing this, that's a sort of legitimate time waster (in my eyes at least). I can talk about yet another trip to Bath, where I might have made my last trip to Quercus Gallery for a while (sad face, although I understand it's going to metamorphose into an online shop) as the owner has an important bump that will soon require it's mum's whole-hearted and undivided attention. Inevitably I liked just about everything in there, especially works by Sally James, Henrietta Corbett, Ian Chamberlain and Susan Laughton. I shall miss the place enormously. I peered in through the windows of Beaux Arts - a sculpturey sort of a gallery, certainly from outside, full of interesting things and I shall visit it once I have gathered the courage to step over the threshold. Like Bath Contemporary Art Gallery, for a first visit I probably need to follow someone in. I wandered a way along London Road too, east from Cleveland Bridge - every time there seem to be more interesting 'shop' windows (one place is a treasure chest of old tins and such, another was sporting some brilliant animal skulls). Walking back into Bath from there and turning down Walcot Street, there's a great range of independent shops and workshops. Including letterpress, weaving, ceramics, galleries, curiosities, it's fascinating all the way.
And now I'm back north to put in that work I'm trying to avoid, for our Hot Bed Press show (now titled Group Thirteen) and the Leeds artist book fair. It's full time I got back to doing something faintly creative.
